Lifetime course access · 365 days of Splunk lab time

When your lab time ends, your course access doesn’t.

About Course

The alert fired. Now it’s yours. Take a real intrusion from the first alert to full recovery. You’ll triage, scope, contain and eradicate it hands-on, then write the report leadership reads.

The incident is a fictional training scenario built for this course. You work it in a Cover6 Splunk environment, the way an incident responder works a live case.

You’ll practise

  • Triaging alerts and deciding what is a real incident
  • Scoping and containing an active intrusion
  • Eradicating, recovering and confirming the attacker is gone
  • Writing the incident report and lessons learned

How it’s structured

  • 13 topics, 49 lessons and 15 hands-on labs
  • A graded capstone, scored by the Cover6 AI grader against a published rubric
  • A final assessment (70% to pass)

Completion and certificate

Finish every lesson, pass the final assessment and pass the capstone to earn your SOC Analyst, Level III certificate with 22.5 CPE hours. Anyone can check it at cover6solutions.com/verify. CPE hours may be submitted to your certifying body according to its rules; each body decides what it accepts.

Incident Response is aligned with DoD 8140 work role 531, Cyber Defense Incident Responder.

Scope: use only the Cover6 systems and data supplied for this course.

Where it fits

Incident Response is the SOC Analyst Level III course. Start with SOC Analyst Prep Labs (Level II) if you haven’t worked a SIEM investigation before.
