The Community Came First.
In 2012, Tyrone E. Wilson started what would become one of the largest cybersecurity communities in the country. What began as a Meetup group for professionals looking to break into InfoSec grew into a movement — nearly 10,000 members, 250+ events, and a reputation for showing up where it matters.
Cover6 Solutions was born from that community. The name comes from the military expression “I’ve got your six” — meaning “I’ve got your back.” That ethos drives everything we do: protect the mission, serve the people, and never leave anyone behind.
Today, Cover6 Solutions is a veteran-owned cybersecurity firm delivering vCISO services, CMMC compliance, penetration testing, and workforce development. We serve federal agencies, defense contractors, and mid-market companies who need real security — not checkbox compliance.

Tyrone E. Wilson
Tyrone E. Wilson is the founder and CEO of Cover6 Solutions and the creator of one of the largest cybersecurity communities in the United States. A service-disabled veteran with over 30 years in information security, he has dedicated his career to defending organizations and developing the next generation of cyber professionals.
Under his leadership, Cover6 has grown from a grassroots Meetup group into a full-spectrum cybersecurity firm serving federal agencies, defense contractors, and mid-market enterprises.
