Knowing the RMF steps is the starting point. This course hands you a system and a deadline.

Odapeeka State, a fictional university, has been awarded a task order to run the KESTREL Data Exchange (KDX), a cloud-hosted system that serves sensor test data for a fictional DoD program office. That puts KDX under the Risk Management Framework and DoDI 8510.01, and puts you in the ISSO’s chair.

What you get

  • One complete authorization package. Nine deliverables build it section by section: roles and boundary, CNSSI 1253 categorization, a tailored SP 800-53 baseline, SSP implementation statements, an assessment readiness package, a POA&M, the AO decision memo and a continuous monitoring plan.
  • AI-assisted feedback on every deliverable, scored against the published rubric.
  • Model answers for every deliverable, unlocked after you submit your own.
  • CGRC exam prep, included. The course follows all seven ISC2 CGRC domains, and the practice exams come with your enrollment.
  • A graded capstone. Your finished package and your briefing to the Authorizing Official, scored against a published rubric.
  • A verifiable certificate. GRC II with 28 CPE hours, issued in your verified account name and verifiable at cover6solutions.com/verify.
  • The workbook, templates and the Year Two case packet.

What makes it different

  • You write the package. You don’t watch someone else write it. 59 lessons in 11 topics follow the RMF in order, from Prepare through Monitor.
  • Honesty is graded. A package that calls KDX “compliant” with findings still open, or presents an inherited control as your own work, does not pass.
  • It’s yours to show. Every organization, system and finding is fictional, so the finished package can go in your portfolio and into an interview.

Before you start: Finish GRC Analyst Prep (free), or pass the GRC II placement check, a short scenario quiz plus one practical. Security+-level vocabulary is assumed.

Where it leads: Security Control Assessor (GRC III), where you move to the assessor’s seat and test a package like the one you built here. It’s open now.

FAQ

Do I need GRC I first? No. Pass the placement check and you start with the same GRC I model Binder as everyone else.

Is there a lab? No. The work is documents, just as it is on the job.

How is my work graded? By the Cover6 AI grader, against a published rubric, with written feedback on every deliverable.

Do the CPE hours count? You can submit them to your certifying body (CompTIA, ISC2, ISACA and others) under its rules. Each body decides what it accepts.

Is any of it real? No. Everything is fictional. Never bring a real SSP, eMASS export or scan result into the course.

An Authorizing Official accepts risk only on the strength of what you wrote down. Learn to write it down honestly.
