Scanning an IPv6 network isn’t the same as scanning IPv4. The address space is so large that brute-force scanning an entire IPv6 subnet is impractical. So we have to be smarter about it.
IPv6 Host Discovery – On a local network, one of the best tools is alive6 (part of the atk6 toolkit on Kali Linux): atk6-alive6 eth0. This sends ICMPv6 echo requests to the all-nodes multicast address.
You can also use Nmap for IPv6 scanning by adding the -6 flag: nmap -6 fe80::1
