IPv6 has been around for a while, but a lot of cybersecurity professionals don’t give it the attention it deserves. That’s a problem, because IPv6 is already running on your network whether you configured it or not.
Why IPv6 Exists – IPv4 gives us about 4.3 billion unique addresses. That sounded like a lot in the 1980s, but with billions of devices connected today, we ran out. IPv6 provides approximately 340 undecillion addresses.
