This is new for 2026, and I need you to pay attention because this changes everything.
Let me tell you what I’m using personally, because I don’t recommend things I’m not in. I use Claude AI. Go to claude.ai. There’s a free tier. There’s also a desktop version that goes much deeper — and if you’re serious about this career, it’s worth the $20 a month. Think of it as sitting next to the smartest person in the world who works for you nonstop and never complains.
Here’s what it can do for you right now:
Resume rewriting: Give it your resume and the job description you’re targeting. It will rewrite your resume tailored to that specific role. The days of submitting the same resume to every job are over.
LinkedIn optimization: Tell it the role you want to have in three years. Have it review your LinkedIn profile and give you specific recommendations. Act on them.
Daily study plans: Tell it, “Every day, give me a new lesson. Help me become a SOC analyst.” Every single day — a new task, a new concept, a new thing to practice. That’s your personal tutor, available whenever you’re ready.
Documentation, research, analysis, email management — all of it. Things that used to take teams, you can do solo.
I’ll be straight with you: AI is going to displace a lot of people. Not because it’s better at everything — it’s not — but because it multiplies the output of the people who know how to use it. The ones who don’t learn will get left behind. The ones who do will build things they couldn’t have imagined doing alone.
Don’t be on the wrong side of that.
One important note: if AI helps you write your resume, make sure you can back up every word in the room. Hiring managers know how to spot what’s real in an interview. Don’t put anything on paper you can’t speak to.
Something to think about:
How could you use AI to accelerate your learning or professional brand this week? Pick one task and run the experiment.
