EKCEP — the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. — operates with a mission to prepare, advance, and expand the workforce of Eastern Kentucky. EKCEP serves citizens across its 23-county Appalachian workforce development area by giving them access to an array of programs that help adults looking for work, workers who are dislocated from their jobs, and economically disadvantaged young people.

EKCEP also trains and assists citizens in taking advantage of the ever-expanding job opportunities in the global, digital economy. Remote work is the focus of EKCEP’s Teleworks USA initiative, which, since 2015, has helped secure more than 2,200 job placements for citizens through partnerships with an expanding stable of national and global hiring corporations. Through POWER funding awarded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) in 2016, EKCEP also partners with private-sector tech companies to train and place citizens in higher-skilled job opportunities in tech, remote medical coding, and now, cybersecurity. FOUR18 operates a unique cloud-based, crowdsourcing platform, FourSightTM, that enables vetted cyber experts to proactively hunt for and collaboratively verify cyber-attacks through subscription and bounty-based models.

Cover6 Solutions, the training and tools partner, is a minority-owned, SDVOSB delivering trusted information security solutions, training, and cybersecurity meetup group organization. #C6S

Teleworks USA is an innovative program that is bringing cutting-edge telework (work-from-home) employment opportunities to job seekers, especially those in rural areas and small towns, allowing them to participate in the global economy without relocating. Working in partnership with local government officials, utility and internet-service providers, the Appalachian Regional Commission, and U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, Teleworks USA has eight Hubs throughout Eastern Kentucky.
