The Foundational Years
Tyrone E. Wilson joined the Army right out of high school. His experiences allowed him to witness both the good and destructive nature of the Internet. After years of supervising a Law Firms Help Desk, managing intrusions at JTF-GNO (now USCYBERCOM), The FBI, The Dept. of Energy, two deployments to Iraq and falling in love with IPv6; he sees an evident lack of education in information security.

Founded The D.C. Cybersecurity Professionals
Out of the sheer desire to help educate the masses and improve soft skills, Tyrone E. Wilson created a meetup group initially designed to teach people about IPv6. Over time, he began to add cybersecurity topics of personal interest. He would schedule meetups 90 days in advance and challenge himself to provide 45 minutes of content within that time frame. Wilson's passion for educating the masses shined through, and the group grew in popularity.
