Dive into Data Science with Dr. Byron Gaskin

Data and data science is all around us. This talks will discuss how Black communities are affected by the rise in Big Data and an algorithm-driven world; not only by exposing troubling uses that cause harm to Black communities but by also highlighting tech creating positive impacts in these same communities. It is necessary that more Black people be involved in the design, implementation, and monitoring of systems that play crucial roles in our lives and we will end with a conversation on ways to become involved at the exciting intersection of Data and Black Cultures
